Sustainable Style Guide - Male Edit

The Pillars

When buying sustainable men's clothing, skincare, and accessories, plenty of responsible and stylish brands create great products that don't hurt the earth.

We're rounding up our favourite brand partners, all of which have been vetted to ensure they pass our sustainability standards — that means they all take People, the Planet, and Principles into consideration when making their products. Going above and beyond to create impact and make a difference in the world. From Allbirds' eco-friendly wool trainers to Osprey's adventure-ready backpacks, there's something for everyone, whether you're treating yourself or buying a gift for a lucky man in your life.

Below are some of our favourite brands catering to the modern conscious consumer and, as always, remember to shop responsibly.

The Bluebeard's Revenge

The Bluebeard's Revenge has been helping men stay well-groomed since 2010, when it launched on the south coast of England. Using recyclable tin packaging and entirely vegan ingredients that aren't tested on animals, the brand takes care to create sustainable skin, hair and body care products. As part of a wider sustainability pledge, in 2019, The Bluebeard's Revenge swapped plastic packaging for 100% recyclable aluminium tins.

As well as creating great products, The Bluebeards Revenge partners with various charities like Help for Heroes, supporting ex-Armed Forces and Orchid Male Cancer, a charity supporting men through cancer treatment. Since its launch, the brand has sold in over 100 countries worldwide!

Orlebar Brown

Launched in the U.K. in 2007, Orlebar Brown transformed the men's swimwear market with sophisticated and versatile shorts that can be worn in the water and out. Maximalist floral prints and bold colours are an Orlebar Brown signature — for the guys who dress to impress, even at the beach. Everything is made in Europe, between Portugal and Italy, so the O.B. team can reduce carbon emissions of freight travel and maintain high ethical standards in their supply chain.

More sustainable materials like organic cotton and recycled polyester are a key focus for the brand, and by 2023, the O.B. team aims to use 100% recycled materials for all their products.

The brand is also taking measures to track and reduce its environmental impact through a variety of solutions. Through a partnership with SeaTrees, Orlebar Brown is regenerating coastal ecosystems through Blue Carbon projects.

Allbirds' signature style is a minimalist wool trainer; in 2020, the brand launched its first clothing collection of wardrobe staples, underwear and activewear using recycled nylon, TENCEL™ Lyocell, Merino wool, and Trino® (a mixture of both). Allbirds style is perfect for everyday wear, with muted colours and classic fits that you can wear for years to come.
